Back To Business! ( + Soapy Wedding Favor Photos)

21 May

IMG_20130521_152037     It feels like forever since I sat and wrote a blog.  Back in December 2012 I put a hold on my natural body products business in order to prepare for my upcoming wedding in April of 2013. It was a tough decision but I had to because if you have ever planned a wedding than you know its like having a second job.  Although I stopped creating my products on a larger scale I never stopped soaping or making new recipes because my creative juices are always flowing. The last 7 months have really given me the opportunity  to think about the many different avenues I could take my business in 2013.  When I decided to  put a hold on the business I promised myself that I would be back in   May. . . . . . .   and here I am!

I got married on April 7, 2013 to the love of my life and for my wedding favors I decided to make soap.  Making  soap for my wedding was a great way to introduce all of our (my husband and I) closest family and friends  to my business.  When it comes to weddings there are so many different little knick knack items that you can give way but I really wanted something that everyone would use. I wanted to give everyone something that would not just sit at home on there shelves and collect dust. I received rave reviews after my wedding from everyone who used my soap. Since my wedding was so close I decided to use glycerin soap verses cold process soap. I was very torn with the decision because I had wanted  to show the true genius of my craft but I also wanted to do something that wasn’t very time consuming because I had so many people to make soap for.

My love is in creating a product that  people will use and love. My love is in using my God given gifted hands to make wonderful creations.  I also made all of the centerpieces for my wedding as well. Below I will show you pictures of the favors that I made for the wedding as well a wedding photo of us.  In doing this project of wedding favors for my wedding  I really enjoyed making one very large batch.  Up next I will be working on some cp cupcake soaps for a bridal shower and I’ll be sure to post a blog and maybe even a video. So if you are having an event in the near future and you would like some very unique soapy favors then be sure to get in contact with natural soul creations.

Star Spangled Soap…………And Other Things!

28 May

So you may be thinking………..what in the world is star spangled soap?! How is a soap star spangled? Its a creative name for my latest soap that I made in honor of Memorial Day. Its red, white, blue and starry…….a sight to see lol! Not to mention it smells amazing. There’s nothing like a beautiful stinky soap, no matter what the soap looks like it needs to smell good. I just want to thank the men and women who go out there and fight for our freedom everyday. Regardless of the politics surrounding the war we still have troops out there that need our support. They are all brave. I had the opportunity to go to fleet week nyc and I enjoyed every moment of it. I loved the Navy band performance, touring the coast guard ship, sitting in air crafts etc.  If you are a subsciber here at than you may have already seen some footage from the event in the latest video. Today I set up shop at a BBQ and everyone loved the products, it was great. But what is beginning to happen is people would like to purchase more (products currently only can be purchased when I do a flea market etc)……….which is never a problem except the fact that my website is still being built. So I now wrestle with thoughts of opening an Etsy shop in the interim. Decisions , decisions and more decisions. Its 12:59am and I am off to eat a hot slice of apple pie and have some chamoille tea before bed. Have a marvelous Memorial Day weekend. It’s Looking Like A Soapy Summer !

20 May

Sorry for those of you who may have received an email of the same exact blog with only a picture………….I made a mistake and pressed the wrong button and it sent the blog before I could even start typing lol ! Now on to the good stuff! I decided to participate in a flea market this Saturday and it was great! It was a relatively new flea market that only started three weeks ago so I was a little skeptical to say the  least – in terms of the amount of traffic or lack of traffic.  I didn’t bring a whole hep of products but people did really enjoy all the things that I did bring. Its amazing how many people wanted to know if it was edible. For a start up flea market with only a few vendors we did pretty well. With all of that being said I definitely think that the flea market needs some marketing to bring people in since it was indoors. The owners need to come up with more creative ideas to bring people in. But I am confident by the start of summer they will be booming with business.  This has definitely put me into flea market fever for the summer. The great thing is that I travel light so I dont feel like i’m lugging a bunch of things around town. If you would like to see the flea market pictures be sure to check out the album on our facebook page

Time For A Soapy Vent Session!!!

9 May

Oh how I miss making soap and my natural products. These past two weeks have been ever so hectic and you don’t realize how much you miss something until its gone. Well let me not be extreme with the word gone lol but temporarily unavailable. In the past two weeks I’ve moved to another state and had surgery. The pros would be that I have more than enough space for business expansion and my health issues have been taken care of. But the laundry list of cons continues to grow as I sit home in recovery and look around at all of the things still in boxes, my curing racks that are disassembled and lifeless etc………  My fiance put together my desk in my office which is great but a trip to home depot is needed badly because I hired movers and my book shelf has a blown out part and my lovely new rack is missing the main component to its stability. Lets take a moment and SCREAM! I am totally 3 weeks behind on Amy Wardens soap challenges that I love. I have loads of free time on my hands currently but I cant do anything because I’m not allowed to lift things along with a whole list of other things from my wonderful surgeon! I love the wonderful world of blogging where I can share my inner most thoughts with the world. So maybe I am being a tad bit aggy, impatient blah blah blah. Great news is i’ll be back in action next week 🙂

To Make Bubble Bars or Not?!

15 Apr

Great news the beer soap smells and looks amazing. The video for how the soap was made will be up on Monday. Since it was made with Budweiser its name is Buddy Love! I also made a soap with coconut milk…….but we will talk about that later. Maybe I will post a sneak peek picture of Buddy Love. But anyway let’s get to the topic at hand. As I prepare for the launch of the website I’ve been trying to decide what to put on it and what not too. It’s nice to have a website that displays  all of your products but you don’t want over kill either. I love bubble bars they are easy to travel with, less cumbersome than traveling with a bottle of liquid. In appearance they have great colors and smell absolutely delightful. So I believe the verdict is Yes , bubble bars for the website. Sometimes you have to just write things out 🙂
